I will probably never own a couture gown but if I were to buy one it would be one of Balmain’s lovely appliqued designs. Maybe in a pretty, cherry-printed fabric or glittery sequins like this lovely vintage gown featured in The Frock.
But today I am longing for this gorgeous Balenciaga Brooch I found in the Cristobal Balenciaga Museoa.
Although I have never had an occasion to wear either a couture gown or a diamond brooch, to me they are both works of art.
I did love playing with my Oklahoma City Grandma’s costume jewelry. Back then I thought the green glass beads were emeralds and the jewel toned brooches were sapphires and rubies.
Alas, they were not genuine.
